Since 2024, many Inuit of Nunavik’s women and their children entered the doors of our new Women’s Centre located in Dorval. Whether you’re interested in learning to sew a nassak or a pair of pualuk, improving your Inuktitut skills, enjoying a cup of tea, accessing a printer, or simply relaxing in a safe and welcoming environment, we invite you to do so, and connect with our team.
The Women’s Centre provides a diverse range of activities for everyone and continually enhances its offerings to better serve the needs of women and their children.
The Women’s Centre is a warm and peaceful resource. Here, you’ll find a welcoming environment with access to a kitchenette, a student corner, a children’s area, a conference room, and a relaxation nook. The inviting aromas of Bannock, tea, and leather will make you feel right at home!

Participate in our Cultural Material Workshops to hone your sewing and seamstress skills! Each month, you’ll have the opportunity to start a new project, with all materials provided. To successfully complete your project, we ask that you attend the Centre at least three times.
Get ready to embark on a thrilling linguistic adventure! These free workshops are open to everyone aged 5 and up, whether you are a beginner or have intermediate proficiency. Whether you’re looking to introduce your child to this beautiful language or dive into learning as an adult, we’ve got something special just for you.
This unique 1-day self-defence workshop is exclusive to women of Nunavik and offered in partnership with Street Safe, a self defence training company. Our team will be traveling to different communities of Nunavik to provide information on self-defence and share tools in violence prevention to keep your family safe. Our next stops are Salluit and Kangirsuk

Our Women’s Centre gives access to a comfortable and bright conference room that accommodates up to 15 guests. Equipped with a projector and screen, the room is also well-suited for interpretation services, including the necessary equipment for translating between Inuktitut and English. Guests will also have access to a bathroom and a coffee machine, ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment for your meetings.
With its newly furnished podcast studio, the Women’s Centre is excited to collaborate with the Southern Quebec Inuit Association to produce a series of engaging and thought-provoking podcasts for Nunavimmiut. Topics will include religion, decolonization, the impact of internet usage on Inuit identity, traditional adoption, and much more.
