The Elisapee Inukpuk Role Model Award was created in 2019 to honour the memory and legacy of Elisapee Inukpuk, a Nunavik artist celebrated for her handcrafted dolls, a practice inspired by her mother and developed into an award-winning body of work. The award honours her not only for her art, but for the values she embodied: respect, resilience, and the power of inspiring others through one’s life and work.
Every other year, the award recognizes Inuit women who carry that same spirit forward by supporting their communities, uplifting those around them, and serving as positive role models for women and youth.
Four women will be selected as recipients, one from each of the following regions:
Anyone can submit a nomination for a woman from Nunavik. To submit your nomination, use the online form at the link below. The process is simple and takes only a few minutes. You have until May 10, 2026 at 5 p.m. The recipients will be honoured at the Arnaliat Nipingit Conference in Puvirnituq in September 2026.
