• Saturviit Women’s Association of Nunavik is a regional non-profit organization that represents the interests of

    Nunavik women. The organization works towards positive change in social and economic conditions affecting Inuit

    women. It does this through advocacy, representation, support for community projects, by undertaking and partnering

    The association is looking to create more opportunities with respect to jobs, training programs, projects and more

    activities within the communities it represents and to expand Saturviit to reach more women and children of

    Nunavik. Reporting to the Administrative Manager (AM), the Finance Assistant focuses on financial planning,

    monitoring and reporting for the organization which ensures Saturviit is capable of achieving its mission.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in developing, monitoring and reporting on project budgets;

    • Prepares financial information for funding requests;

    • follow schedules of reporting requirements for funding agreements;

    •compiles project and operational financial information for Saturviit’s annual budget; monitors and update the

    budget as needed;

    •perform monthly bank reconciliations; monitor receivables; reports on cash flow concerns;

    •organise files for the annual financial review;

    •prepare and submit government filings – payroll, NEQ, sales tax refunds;

    •manage insurance renewals;

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2 years of experience in finance and administration of a not-for-profit organization;

    • Tracking budget expenses;

    • Fluent in English and Inuktitut; Knowledge in French, as asset;

    • knowledge in office and accounting software;

    • Knowledge in Communication systems;

    • Detail oriented

    • Able to work independently

    •Respect for timeline, deadlines;

    • Sense of responsibility, discretion, good judgement;

     

    Place of Work: Remote

     

    Salary: Depending on qualification and experience
