• Saturviit Women’s Association of Nunavik is a regional non-profit organization that represents the interests of

    Nunavik women. The organization works towards positive change in social and economic conditions affecting Inuit

    women. It does this through advocacy, representation, support for community projects, by undertaking and partnering

    The association is looking to create more opportunities with respect to jobs, training programs, projects and more

    activities within the communities it represents and to expand Saturviit to reach more women and children of

    Nunavik. Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Communication Officer plays a key organizational role to

    ensure clear, coherent and consistent communication about the organizations strategic focus and activities and

    manages media relations on behalf of the organization.


    • Propose a communication plan developed in conjunction with the organizations Action Plan;

    • Update the organizations website and Social Media pages with current, up-to-date information;

    • Organize internal and external communications;

    • Prepare monthly speaking notes for Board of Directors as and when required;

    • Write press releases as and when required and coordination with media / journalists;

    • Keep statistics and key metrics on user visits on website and social media platforms;

    • Support the Executive Director in drafting and finalizing all organization communications (Executive summaries,

    annual reports, press releases, etc.);

    • Ensure that events have proper translation equipment.


    • 2 years experience in communications;

    • Fluent in English and Inuktitut (knowledge of French is considered an asset);

    • Technical skills in writing and proofreading;

    • Technical ability to use, modify and update social media platforms and websites;

    • Acute sense of responsibility;

    • Must be able to work autonomously;

    • Sense of urgency;

    • Discretion and good judgement;

    Place of Work: Remote

    Salary: Depending on qualification and experience
